At Marc Maron, we take pride in being open, accessible and responsive to our clients and families. Our referring health colleagues around the country rely on us to take extraordinary measures to help them. Marc Maron Critical Care at Home is comprised of different healthcare professionals working together. They ensure every aspect of care is considered when caring for critically ill patients.

Marc Maron Critical Care at Home is made up of the Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT), these are-

  • CCOT Nurse – Experienced expert ICU nurses who have completed specialty training in critical care and have two or more years of experience in ICU.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) – They manage many treatments that help a patient breathe. This may include oxygen therapy, a breathing machine (i.e., ventilator) and some medications.
  • CCOT Physician – Also known as an intensivist and who has completed additional specialty training in critical care medicine. 
  • Physiotherapists- help the CCOT team to safely move clients on ventilation at home.
  • The Care Coordinator -is one of the first people you speak to at Marc Maron Care Services. They help answer any questions about the care of your loved one who is receiving Critical Care. They will also help you connect with the right nurse when you need care at home for your loved one.
  • The Dietitian will make sure your loved one gets the right amount of nutrients for energy to heal.
  • Indigenous Wellness Liaisons work with the critical care team to provide culturally safe care to patients, families and the community. Find out more about the services and supports offered by the Indigenous Wellness Liaisons.
  • The local Pharmacist helps ensure your loved one’s medications are the right drugs for the patient. They review the patient’s medication list weekly with the care team.
  • The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) helps patients who have new speech, language, swallowing, and/or communication problems.
  • The Spiritual Health Practitioner is there for patients, families and their friends. They can help with grief, loss and other difficult emotions. They also offer spiritual support and multi-faith services.
  • Marc Maron Care Services work closely with families and patients. We provide psychological, spiritual, and emotional support. Our nurses provide one-on-one care for clients at Home.
